PEACE STATEMENT FROM THE HON. ROBIN COOPER, MEMBER OF STATE PARLIAMENT FOR MORNINGTON
This statement was prepared by the Hon. Robin Cooper, former Mornington Shire President and former Member of State Parliament for Mornington, for the Mornington Peninsula Peace Vigil, October 2001.

As one of a small group that comprise the longest surviving democracies in the world, Australians are people who truly believe in, and practice, the three great freedoms of a peaceful nation being freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of association. We should all do everything we can to extend the peace and freedom that we have to the rest of the world.

I trust that the vigil is a great success.
