More Thoughts

The following statements were submitted to the original website for the Vigil by individuals as part of an open invitation to share thoughts on peace.  These are a selection of the statements that were sent into the organizers and read out on the night of the Vigil:

“Peace begins with the heart, flows through the soul and is achieved through ultimate compassion. We all need to find peace in our hearts before the world can find peace as a whole. If we remember that we are all part of the whole, the process will be that much easier. We all have a part to play, and a voice to use. May peace go with you.” – Anna, Melbourne, Australia

“When peace breaks out and flows like a river over the Earth – it will be a wonderful day. Let’s all pray and do what we can to have that happen.” – Mollie, Shiloh, NJ (USA)

“Peace is needed at this present day. I turned 14 today and I don’t want my future horribly ridded with war I want my future to be full of peace and happiness.” – Jade, Noosa Australia

“Peace is not just a word, it is an art.” – Denise, Jackson, MS (USA)

“Peace is the only way forward – forward to an amazing world that dreams are made of. Many of us are blind to envisage such a world, blinded by our own insecurities and daily trivial problems which consume us and bring us down. We must remind ourselves that all we really need are each other and the basics of life, life doesn’t have to be complicated. Society does move too fast, driven by money, greed, competition and the endless pursuit of ‘success’. We must slow down as we cannot love at great speed and without love we are lost. “Money is the root of all evil” –- it may make the world go around but it is love that holds the world together. We should help each other not for financial gain but for the simple fact that we need each other and giving is receiving. So some of us (most of us I like to believe) hold our heads above the smog of today, consider what could be, and try (as this website does) to embrace peace and h! ave the courage to see a better way of life for ALL mankind. It seems like a mammoth mission to liberate the world from everything that keeps it beating out of synchronization but there is a solution to every problem. Step by step, together, we will iron out our modern day problems and the world will beat in tune, harmoniously, eternally.” – David, Sydney, Australia

“There, but for the grace of God, go I” is a saying which refers to the chances of life, including birth and death, cited by John Bradford, Lancashire evangelist, in 1548. The other saying which I fervently believe in is “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing” by Edmund Burke. Please have a look at my website and register then post on my Discussion Board, which is accessed via the Actions page on my website. Pace E Bene (peace and all good)” – Autumn Haze, Perth, Western Australia
