PEACE STATEMENT FROM MARTIN DIXON, STATE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT
This statement was prepared by Martin Dixon, former school principal, former Deputy Chairman of Primary Education at the Catholic Education Office and the State Member of Parliament for Dromana, for the Mornington Peninsula Peace Vigil, October 2001.

A Peace Reflection

For peace to happen in the world;
We must have a peaceful country;
To have a peaceful country, we must have peaceful communities;
To have peaceful communities, we must have a peaceful family;
To have a peaceful family, we must have peaceful people;
For a person to be peaceful they must be at peace with themselves.

 

ABOUT MARTIN DIXON

Martin Dixon holds a Diploma of Teaching and Bachelor of Education. After four years of teaching he became Principal of three schools over fifteen years, finally becoming Deputy Chairman, Primary Education, Catholic Education Office, Melbourne.  He has been a member of four Joint Parliamentary Committees and was Secretary of the Parliamentary Liberal Party, Opposition Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Opposition Spokesman for Tertiary Education and Training, Opposition Spokesman on Tourism, Opposition Whip, Shadow Minister for Tourism, Shadow Minister for Community Services, Shadow Minister for Education and Training, Shadow Minister for Education Services, Skills and Employment, Shadow Minister for Innovation, Shadow Minister for Victorian Communities ,Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs and Shadow Minister for Education.
